My story 💕
Howdy, y’all! Darby here! 😊 I'm a sweet red mare, with just a touch of sass for flavor! I found my way to this cozy ranch thanks to a good friend who knew I needed attention and something easy to keep me active. When I arrived, I was a touch underweight, and my muscles were tight, especially in my neck and backside. Turns out, I might’ve been quite the hardworking show horse in my day! While some of the details of my past are a bit fuzzy, I did come with a fancy roping saddle and a scar on my leg that tells a tale of its own. That scar may have ended my rodeo days, but it doesn’t bother me none anymore!
I’m currently on winter rest to allow my aging body to set in a gentle environment. In the summer, I like to partner up with my favorite girl Taylin for 4H activities. It’s a wonderful partnership that I truly cherish! She also helps me out with my horse yoga. Those stretches really do wonders for my muscles, and they make me feel as good as new. Plus, she keeps me company during my care visits, making every moment feel special.
I’m all about taking life easy, so I do enjoy staying active with leisurely trail rides. I find that these relaxed outings help keep me limber and prevent any soreness. There’s nothing quite like meandering down beautiful trails, soaking in the scenery while enjoying the company of my horse pals.
So, come on over and say hi! If you’re feeling generous, I wouldn’t mind a scratch or two on the withers—it really brightens my day! 😉
