My story 💕

My name's Apollo, and let me tell you, I'm not your average horse; I'm a Percheron, tall and proud, a real 'sky bison' if you will. My memory is a little fuzzy, but I think I started off hauling logs for the Amish. It was hard work, but I love being in the deep woods.

Time passed, and I grew older. My logging days were behind me, but thankfully, a kind friend took me in. She gave me a peaceful home and took such good care of me for many years. But as I aged, I needed more attention and big friends. She wanted the best for me, a place where I'd be loved and looked after every day, so she made the difficult decision to find me a new home. That's where my current family comes in. They welcomed me with open arms, and gave me a bunch of big friends to play with! I met my new best pal, Charlie here too! ♥︎ We love to trot and nap together in our pasture.

My appetite is legendary - breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, second breakfast, third lunch... I never miss a meal! Since I'm a "hard keeper", they make sure I'm well-fed and happy. They also give extra attention to my hooves since I have a history of issues with them. Abscesses can be a pain, but they make sure my hooves are stronger to fight them.

Now, in my twilight years, I have a new purpose: carrying folks along the trails. It's a different kind of work, but I enjoy it. There's a certain peace in the slow rhythm of a trail ride, the gentle sway of my gait, and the connection I feel with my rider. They say I make them feel safe and tall, like they're riding on a cloud. That makes me proud.

I may be an older fella, but I still have a lot to give. All I ask is a bit of kindness and understanding, and I'll carry you to the ends of the earth.
